Les lois sont toujours en train de changer, on espère d'améliorer.  Au Canada par exemple, il y a le projet  visant à adopter le Bill C-10B, pour modifier le Code criminel.  Aussi, il y a un changement récent qui font la divulgation des ingrédients requise sur les cosmétiques.

There is a new issue for translators.  ‘Health Canada is seeking an amendment to the Cosmetic Regulations that will require manufacturers and distributors of cosmetic products to disclose ingredients on their product labels.’

INCI names are a contraction of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) names, which are based on Latin and are recognized as multilingual.

The INCI ingredient listing system represents a multilingual system and is therefore not “based” upon either of Canada’s two official languages. Nonetheless, it has been determined that the implementation of this system in Canada will comply with the requirements of the Canadian Official Languages Act.

The INCI ingredient listing system recognizes that most of the names for cosmetic product ingredients are technical chemical names that might not be readily understood by the consumer.
